Doulas are always asked about their birth philosophy when meeting with new families. I will say mine is pretty simple, I show up for you the way your best friend would show up for you. I’m here to support your birthing wishes without judgement. I’m here to help carry you through your hard times and to step back to witness you and cheer you on in your best times. Offering birth support is an incredibly intimate experience. Having someone see you in all your sweaty, crazy hair, IDGAF, granny-panty glory can feel pretty vulnerable. It’s these moments in our lives when we need our most trusted people the most. Maybe it’s your partner, maybe it’s your mom, maybe it’s your bestie - but they are the ones you know in your heart are ALWAYS riding for you. That’s where I happily join the team! Few things in life bring me more joy than the opportunity to be someone’s doula and provide that intimate prenatal, birth, and early post partum support. I am the type of person who falls in love with nearly everyone I meet. It’s some true bestie energy and that BFFL , ride or die kind of love that I bring to the table. That no makeup, butt naked, groaning through contractions on the toilet and I’m STILL with you, holding your hand on this long hard journey kind of love. It’s one of those loves from a friend you maybe don’t see every day but still send pictures too and check in with from time to time because they saw and held you through the hardest most transformative experience of your life and you’re connected forever now. In the time we spend together there will be memories made that neither of us will ever forget. And it’s an honor for me to join and support you in them.
